Christian Löffler uses historic shellac records
Vor ungefähr drei Jahren hat das Label Deutsche Grammophon das „The Shellac Project“ gestartet und analoge Schellack-Aufnahmen aus der Zeit zwischen 1907 und 1938 digitalisiert. Für sein neues Album „Parallels“ wurde der DJ und Produzent Christian Löffler von dem Label dann gebeten, Aufnahmen aus diesem Archiv zu nehmen und daraus neue Songs zu produzieren. Das alles geschah auch im Zusammenhang mit dem Beethoven-Jahr. Dennis Kastrup hat ihn gesprochen und erfahren, dass er die analogen Originale auf Grund der Coronoabestimmungen erst nach der Fertigstellung des Albums auf einer Listening Session des Labels anschauen konnte. Dafür sind sie sogar extra aus London eingeflogen worden.
About three years ago, the Deutsche Grammophon label launched “The Shellac Project” and digitized analog shellac recordings from the period between 1907 and 1938. For his new album “Parallels“, DJ and producer Christian Löffler was then asked by the label to take recordings from this archive and produce new songs from them. All this also happened in connection with the Beethoven Year. Dennis Kastrup spoke to him and learned that, due to Corono regulations, he could not look at the analog originals until after the album was finished at a listening session of the label. They were even flown in from London especially for this.
