Animachina by Kroy
Ende der 70er Jahre sangen Kraftwerk „Wir sind die Roboter, wir funktionieren automatik, jetzt wollen wir tanzen mekanik“. Über 40 Jahre später wird nicht nur Musik über Roboter geschrieben, sondern die Maschinen machen auch selber Musik. Camille Polliquin, die eine Hälfte des kanadischen Elektropop Duos Milk & Bone, hat sich das zu eigen gemacht. Unter dem Namen „Kroy“ hat die Musikerin zusammen mit mehreren Roboterarmen Musik gemacht, „Animachina“ heißt die Installation. Die sieben Performances dazu wurden in Montréal als Videos im Kulturzentrum Centre Phi gezeigt. Eine Live Aufführung war wegen Corona-Maßnahmen leider nicht möglich. Dennis Kastrup hat sie sich angesehen und mit Polliquin gesprochen.
At the end of the 70s Kraftwerk sang “We are the robots, we function automatik, now we want to dance mekanik”. Over 40 years later, not only is music being written about robots, but the machines are making music themselves. Camille Polliquin, one half of the Canadian electropop duo Milk & Bone, has made it her own. Under the name “Kroy,” the musician has made music together with several robotic arms: “Animachina” is the name of the installation. The seven performances for it were shown in Montréal as videos at the Centre Phi cultural center. A live performance was unfortunately not possible due to Corona measures. Dennis Kastrup saw it and talked to Polliquin.
