Virtual Influencer

Davon profitieren heute besonders so genannte „Virtual Influencer“. Sie drängen immer mehr in die Popmusik. Dennis Kastrup hat genauer hingeschaut.

In 1998 a band was formed in Great Britain that consisted only of virtual members: The Gorillaz. Behind them was the musician Damon Albarn, who was responsible for the music, and comic artist Jamie Lew, who took care of the characters. Instead of the actual band, the avatars were seen in videos and interviews. At that time, The Gorillaz caused a sensation. Today you see more and more avatars in pop music. The technology behind it is called CGI, computer-generated imagery. It is used in computer games to make the characters look more real. Today, so-called “virtual influencers” are profiting from this in particular. They are increasingly pushing their way into pop music. Dennis Kastrup took a closer look.
